This past month, many classrooms engaged in a hands-on investigation of light using artificial and natural light sources.

There was a sense of awe as the infants and toddlers discovered how their palm or finger could turn on and off a light. Preschoolers gravitated toward the concepts of shadows and reflections, observing how they could make their shadows move and change in size.

It was a great opportunity to let the children lead their learning, allowing them to follow their natural curiosity and explore concepts at their own pace. We’re so fortunate to have captured some of these discoveries in real time!
