Thank you Representative Aaron Michlewitz, House Chairman of the MA Ways and Means Committee, for touring our new Family Child Care (FCC) Incubator in Roxbury today!

Nurtury’s FCC Incubator opened in Roxbury last month, equipping early childhood educators with the start-up space, training, and resources to open their own FCC small businesses and provide on-site care to children in the area. This FCC Incubator is the first of its kind in the Commonwealth and only second in the nation.

Rep. Michlewitz met our three inaugural Incubator Residents and visited each of their program spaces as well as our FCC Educator Resource Room. Incubator Resident Suany Ramos of “Our Little Steps Child Care” expressed how thankful she was to be able to open her own small business and provide care for families through this opportunity.

The tour was accompanied by Laura Perille (Nurtury’s President & CEO), Mayra Rosado (Nurtury’s VP of Business Development), Doris Yepez (Director of Nurtury’s FCC Incubator), Jeff Sánchez (Principal of Sánchez Strategies), and Patrick Lyons (Director of Constituent Services for Rep. Michlewitz).

We believe this innovative model will play a pivotal role in expanding access to high-quality care for more families in MA while also supporting the growth of women of color-led small businesses in the early ed field.
